in-cosmetics Asia celebrates best ever attendance
While Lipotec scoops Gold in Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award 2014
The 2014 edition of in-cosmetics Asia has got off to a flying start with visitor figures of 3,000 for the first day alone, a 20% increase on first day figures at 2013's show, with 50% of these being international visitors.
In other news, the winners of the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Awards 2014, sponsored by the SPC portfolio of titles, have been awarded. Spanish supplier Lipotec scooped the Gold Award for its Actigym marine ingredient, an active that improves body tone in areas sensitive to sagging by inducing adiponectin release from adipose tissue, and enhancing the metabolism of type I muscle fibres and mitochondrial activity.
The Silver Award went to DSM for the Valvance series of sensory and visual modifiers, while history was made twice in the Bronze category. Firstly, 2014 was the first Awards to see two Bronze winners: BASF for Tinosorb A2B – the first UV filter to be included in the positive list (Annex VI) of the new EU Cosmetics Regulation – and CinderellaCare from Japan's Ichimaru Pharcos, which reduces the KINESIN protein to induce a skin lightening effect. Secondly, Ichimaru Pharcos is the first Asia-based company ever to win an Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award at in-cosmetics Asia.
