It is no secret that preservation has become a challenging task over the past decade. And, as beauty trends change, new preservative solutions are needed to address these changes.
In fact, preservation has never been easy. In the past, formulators had to take into account many aspects, but mostly antimicrobial efficacy, formulation compatibility and global regulations. Today, however, additional requirements are growing stronger: perception of the preservative in the eyes of the consumer, the ability to meet marketing claims and the alignment of the chosen preservative with the brand’s direction.
