HCP’s “Innovation Committee” have recognised a rising trend towards the soothing and inspiring influence of nature. The more urban our lifestyles become, the more we crave and need time away from it all. As we seek balance in our hectic lives today we find that we enjoy re-experiencing the elements. Rain, wind or shine seems to lift our spirits immediately.
Parallel to this, we found that through multi-sensory environments and haptic design, people are becoming ever more in-tune with their senses.

These discoveries inspired HCP to bring a little bit of nature back to packaging, with some spectacular “water effects” using two different methods; 3-D Droplets and “Gelology”.
3-D Droplets are formed by a unique manufacturing spray process that creates a droplet effect over metalisation, leaving a tactile and extremely realistic finish. The aspect and appearance of 3-D Droplets can be controlled to meet specific customer requirements. While fabulous visual effects have been created using “Gelology” technology with gel over paper graphics to give a dramatic “bubble” look.
