Hair Proud is offering homeless young adults in the US access to a free haircut throughout March.
The Gen Z hair care brand has partnered with non-profit StandUp for Kids on the ‘A Cut Above’ initiative, as well as 11 hair salons across seven states.
The campaign aims to help “young adults rediscover their confidence one haircut at a time”, the brand said.
Young adults just have to scan the campaign QR code to find a participating salon.
More than four million young adults in America are experiencing homelessness, reported StandUp for Kids.
More than two thirds (69%) of those affected experience mental health issues and lack access to basic hygienic care and services.

“Young people work very hard to fit in and not look homeless,” said StandUp for Kids Board Member Kelly Fields.
“The longer they are on the street, the harder it becomes.
“Imagine when you finally want to make a change, not having anywhere to clean up.
“A fresh, clean haircut is an excellent start. This is why we are [partnering] with Hair Proud."
Hair Proud is not the first hair care brand to support those who are homeless.
John Freida partnered with UK charity Crisis on its ‘See Me, See My Potential’ initiative in October 2022.
The partnership gave London-based homeless people access to support and a free haircut.
British charity Haircuts4Homeless gives free haircuts to homeless people too.
It also helps train them up to become future hair stylists.
