First eco-friendly research unit opens in China
International joint facility to help reduce dependence on oil
The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), Rhodia, the Ecole Normale Superieure of Lyon and the East China Normal University have opened the Laboratory of Eco-efficient Products and Processes, an international joint research unit based in Shanghai.
This facility, said to be the first of its kind in China, is specifically dedicated to eco-efficient chemistry and located at Rhodia’s research centre in Shangai. The aim is to deliver new products and processes capable of reducing our dependence on oil. The laboratory will house joint international research and bring together research scientists from academia and industry, as well as students.
