Entries for 2010 CEW (UK) Beauty Awards exceed expectation

This year’s CEW (UK) Beauty Awards will be the biggest yet according to CEW (UK) president Caroline Neville.


This year’s CEW (UK) Beauty Awards will be the biggest yet according to CEW (UK) president Caroline Neville.

Since their inception in 2006, product participation has jumped 350% to 304 entries and the 2010 event will feature 26 categories.

The Prestige Best New Everyday Skincare Product category has attracted largest number of entries this year, up 56% on 2009 to 25 participants, while in the mass category the award for Best New Everyday Skincare Product also invited the most entries, totalling 19, up 72% on 2009.

Brands entering the awards for the first time this year include Blink, Mama Mio, Eucerin, Hawaiian Tropic, Smashbox Cosmetics, Jergens, Soap and Glory for Men, Ella Bache and !QMS Medicosmetics.

“This year will be more competitive than ever and highlights the importance of the CEW (UK) Beauty Awards as the trophy brands want to win,” said Caroline Neville. “Originally devised as a way to highlight innovation and creativity in the beauty industry, the Awards are a proven business builder for finalist and winning brands.”

Boots.com returns as title sponsor, while promotions will also be featured on the QVC shopping channel and in-store in Harrods. New sponsors for 2010 include Slendertone, The London Clinic and Microsoft Advertising.

All products entered into the awards will be showcased at the CEW (UK) Demonstration Night held in London on 22nd February.
