Elemis, the luxury British spa and skin care brand, wears its 37-year-heritage proudly, having become a UK icon for its extensive line of anti-ageing and sensorial products.

Yet, for co-founder Sean Harrington, who charted the L’Occitane-owned brand’s course through good times and challenging years, a new chapter is unfolding.

Harrington has joined global investment bank Lempriere Wells as Partner, with the firm becoming Lempriere Wells Harrington (LWH).

LWH advises founder-led consumer and beauty businesses and is behind some of Australia and Asia's most successful consumer exits, including brands Grown Alchemist and Coco & Eve.

With Harrington’s appointment, the business is expanding its focus into the US market with an ambition to reshape how brands across beauty, wellness and longevity industries are advised.

To date, the firm has been led by founder Alice Wells, who has built a global network throughout the world, advising both brands and buyers alongside firm Partner Will Lempriere.

Established out of the M&A function of Lempriere Group – an investment house dating back to the 1823 founding of Australia’s second bank, The Bank of Van Diemen’s Land – the firm operates from Melbourne, Dubai and Paris.

For Harrington, the appointment represents the next natural step in his beauty career after founding the brand alongside entrepreneur Linda Steiner, as well as Noella Gabriel and Oriele Frank.

“After 37 years of building Elemis, it is great to have an exciting partnership opportunity like this,” Harrington told Cosmetics Business.
