Maesa, the US-based beauty brand incubator, has appointed former Unilever VP Piyush Jain (pictured) as its new CEO.
Boasting a 20-year career at the personal care giant, across roles including Global Brand Vice President for Beauty and Personal Care, Jain's track record includes founding Unilever's sustainable body care brand Love Beauty & Planet as well as leading the company's North American hair care business.
With experience across brands including Dove, Lux, Suave, TRESemmé and AXE, he will now be responsible for growing Maesa at what is described as a “pivotal moment” for the maker of Drew Barrymore's Flower Beauty, which has almost doubled its revenues in the last three years following an investment from Bain Capital in 2019.
“We are committed to bringing the future into the present and transforming the beauty industry for the better and Piyush is a natural fit to lead this next phase of growth,” said Julien Saada, founder and Chairman of Maesa.
“With values that align, and with his deep experience building, operating and incubating brands, we are delighted to welcome Piyush to the business.”
Shaina takes over from Gianni Pieraccioni, who has decided to step down from the role he took in 2021 for personal reasons.
