Designer Parfums appoints its first in-house perfumer
Fontaine studied perfumery at the Ipsica Fragrance Academy at Versailles under the patronage of the House of Jean Patou and its today recognised as a leading specialist in recasting vintage formulas for modern times.
His international client list and track record includescreating fragrances for bespoke houses such as Lubin, Gres and JC Brosseau as well as major brand owners such as P&G Prestige.
At Designer Parfums Fontaine will work alongside the existing team on new launches and will have a specific responsibility overseeing the fragrance development for the company’s heritage brands, Worth, Jean Louis Scherrer and Jean Patou
“My role within the company is pretty simple: to create fragrances!” says Fontaine. “In the case of an iconic name such as Jean Patou I shall be looking to reinstate the original spirit of this wonderful brand and reinforce its position as one of the world’s leading luxury fragrance houses.”
