A true milestone in the field of natural cosmetics has now been reached, since it has become possible to produce caprylyl glycol from completely plant-based raw materials for the very first time. Caprylyl glycol is a well-known and frequently used raw material for the preservation of cosmetic products. It is most popular in creams and gels, but can also be used in many other products. Cosphatec is now one of the first companies to offer this ingredient with a COSMOS certification and when caprylyl glycol is combined with natural glyceryl caprylate and natural propanediol, a truly unique blend is created. As a result, the company is able to enhance the positive properties of each raw material and overcome their previous weaknesses. The new blend remains effective across a broad pH spectrum (3.5 - 7.0), making it ideal as an alternative preservative to complement organic acids, for example, with a better price/performance ratio.
