China’s S’Young Group is the new owner of luxury, science-forward brand RéVive Skincare.
The conglomerate purchased the US skin care player from Tengram Capital Partners.
Tengram has owned RéVive since 2017, when it bought the 1997-founded brand from Shiseido.
RéVive was developed by plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr Gregory Bays Brown.
Products are based on the brand’s Bio-Renewal Technology, comprising three key peptides and inspired by Nobel Prize winning science used to heal burn victims.
RéVive’s line-up includes hero sku Moisturizing Renewal Cream Nightly Retexturizer, which works with the body’s biological clock to optimise skin’s reparative mechanisms during sleep.
Another bestseller is US$295 Rescue Elixir Anti-Aging Oil, which blends Bio-Renewal Technology with a self-moisturising complex.
According to RéVive Skincare CEO Elana Drell Szyfer, both Brown and the brand’s management team will continue in their current roles and the company will maintain independent operations.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Tengram’s sale of RéVive comes mere weeks after the US investment firm sold its HRB Brands business – the parent of Alberto VO5 and Brut, among others – to Sodalis Group.
It also marks another prestige beauty buy for S'Young, which acquired luxury French skin care brand EviDenS de Beauté for an undisclosed sum in 2022.
