Charlotte Tilbury and Sol de Janeiro are the UK’s most wanted beauty brand dupes, according to new research from Fresha.

The beauty and wellness booking platform analysed 97 popular premium beauty brands to uncover the most searched for dupes on the market.

Body care and fragrance player Sol de Janeiro took the top spot as the most sought after brand with nearly 70,000 searches for dupes each year, as consumers look to get their hands on affordable alternatives to the viral range.

Following in second place, with 24,000 searches per year, is make-up giant Charlotte Tilbury.

The Puig-owned luxury brand – known for its colour cosmetics, skin care, body care and fragrances – dominated product searches for dupes as well, accounting for four of the top 10 most searched for product dupes.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream is the most searched-for beauty dupe by UK consumers, while the brand’s Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray, Contour Wands and Airbrush Flawless Foundation all featured within the top 10 too.

When it comes to the most searched for brands, it may be somewhat surprising to see Drunk Elephant taking the third spot in the rankings, with 14,160 searches annually.

Luxury brands Chanel, Elemis, Dior, La Mer and Tatcha all made the top ten.

As well as K-beauty leader Laneige and Hailey Bieber’s Rhode, both of which are hugely popular across social media.

Annabelle Taurua, beauty expert at Fresha, told Cosmetics Business: “Top brands, including Charlotte Tilbury and Drunk Elephant, feature heavily in searches, highlighting that consumers are looking for more affordable alternatives to their favourite products while still prioritising quality and suitability.”
