The Derm Solutions range, which is marketed for eczema, rosacea and psoriasis-prone skin, launches alongside No7’s new skin care consultation service

Boots' No7 has entered cosmeceuticals with its new skin care line that boasts 'dermatologist-grade technology'.

The Derm Solutions skin care collection comprises five core calming products that work to maintain the skin’s barrier.

The new line also features targeted treatments to tackle acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema concerns.

Shoppers can also access a free in-store skin analysis service at Boots for personalised skin care advice.

The UK beauty brand said the skin care line and in-store service were created due to “the growing need for skin health products and expertise among British shoppers”.

A triple adaptogen system features in the core range’s cleansers and moisturisers for oily and dry skin.

Ingredients custard apple (cherimoya), red clover, ginseng and pentavitin are used to address sensitivity, hydration and oxidative stress.

The fifth product in the core range is Skin Balancing Serum, a nourishing solution packed with green tea, vitamins C and E, and Japanese lily turf.

The four targeted products are Eczema Treatment, Rosacea Treatment, Clearing Treatment and Psoriasis Treatment Cream.

“The range is designed to work with your skin, not against it, so that it can adapt and defend itself from internal and external triggers,” said Dr Mike Bell, No7’s Head of Science Research.

Skin Solutions, meanwhile, is a free in-store skin care consultation service with a CIBTAC (The Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology) qualified No7 Beauty Advisor.

Customers can have up to three personalised sessions over a 12-week period and in each Derm Scan technology will be used to provide an accurate reading of their skin health.

The technology covers hydration levels, oil balance, the state of pores and fine lines, and the depth and appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Data is also provided on skin tone evenness, assessing the difference between the average colour of the skin on the forehead, cheeks and jawline.

No7 has put 1,400 of its beauty advisors through CIBTAC’s accredited Skin School programme so they have the correct knowledge to advise customers during this service.

More than half (56%) of UK consumers find shopping for skin care confusing, reported No7.

A further 29% have experienced irritation by using the wrong or too many skin care products.

“Our research shows that many people feel stuck in an ongoing cycle of skin care that does not work for their skin,” said Grace Vernon, Head of Global Cultural Insights and Trends, at No7 Beauty.

“But they do not know where to turn for trustworthy expert advice.

“We wanted to develop a range and service that gives people access to personalised expert beauty advice and product recommendations.

“Helping them to stop the frustrating cycle of trial and error.”

The Derm Solutions launch follows more than ten years of research by No7 into the healthy skin category.

This includes quantitative research with more than 10,000 members of No7’s proprietary consumer research panel.

No7 also did product testing on more than 5,400 consumers in 49 studies, across both clinical and real-life trials.

Derm Solutions follows the launch of its No7’s Future Renew skin care range, which the company claimed was its biggest scientific innovation in 87 years.
