Pantone may have picked ‘Cloud White’ as its colour of the year for 2026, but in beauty, it is really the colour blue that is taking centre stage this year.

“The colour blue is a cornerstone hue in beauty, uniquely spanning genders, generations and emotional states,” says Megan Bang, Beauty Strategist at trend forecaster WGSN.

“It offers calm and comfort, while still feeling future-focused and expressive”.

From blue make-up to inspiring packaging, brands are already tapping the hue for the year ahead.

It is even a theme running through the heart of the industry, with ocean conscious, eco-friendly ‘blue beauty’ on the rise.

“As consumers navigate continuously rising social and economic pressures, blue’s associations with restoration and creativity feel grounding,” Bang explains.
