Asda has opened its first-ever supermarket spa, which offers beauty treatments alongside a healthy meal.
Situated at the UK supermarket’s Islington store in London, customers can choose from three beauty treatments, which are then paired with a specific meal to boost the shopper’s health and wellness.
Each of the treatments, priced from £2.25 each, come with a food item from Asda’s new complementary Health Menu range.
The treatments include Muscle Health, a deep-tissue massage designed to relieve aches and pains.
The service is teamed with Asda’s Fragrant Thai Red Chicken Bowl or Cod and Kimchi Spiced Fish Cakes food dish.
Bone Health is a hot stone massage to ease tension and stiffness, paired with a Creamy Butternut Squash Linguine or Fragrant Prawn Laksa Pot.
Energy Boost is an Indian head massage, which is served alongside Asda’s Fiery Jerk or Herby Pesto Penne Chicken Bowls.
The spa is open from 23 to 25 January and customers can book their treatments online.
All proceeds will be donated to Asda’s charity partner, breast cancer charity Tickled Pink.
“We know that health and wellness can often come at a cost, which is why we are launching the Asda Health Menu Spa,” said Regan Howard, Asda’s Own Brand Strategy Manager.
“[This is] to show that looking after your health does not have to be unattainable.”
Asda sells skin care, hair care and colour cosmetics from brands including Elemis, Clinique and L'Oréal Paris.
The retailer has also teamed up with Unilever to launch in-store refill stations for brands including Radox shower gel, Simple hand wash, and Alberto Balsam shampoo and conditioner.
