Beauty giant looks to grow male fragrance portfolio

Elizabeth Arden and John Varvatos Apparel Corp have entered into an exclusive global licensing agreement for the development, marketing and distribution of John Varvatos men’s and women’s fragrances.

“This license provides us the opportunity to grow our market share of the men’s fragrance market with an already existing and successful men’s designer fragrance brand and leverage the growing awareness of the John Varvatos fashion line,” commented Ron Rolleston, Arden’s executive vp of global fragrance marketing.

The John Varvatos fragrance collection includes the Classic fragrance, launched in 2004, the Vintage fragrance and the recently launched Artisan fragrance. The license agreement will come into effect at the end of June this year. Until then, responsibility for John Varvatos skin care and fragrances will remain with current licensee Shiseido.
