US-based beauty and wellness brand Arbonne has been awarded B Corporation (B Corp) certification for its environmental commitments.
Certified B Corp companies meet standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability.
Businesses are verified by nonprofit organisation B Lab, which are required to consider the impact of companies’ decisions on customers, workers and communities, as well as the environment.
“Sustainability is a journey, and our B Corp certification is just the beginning,” said Jean-David Schwartz Arbonne’s CEO.
“Arbonne is using its business success as a force for good as we build a more inclusive economy for the world.
"We hold ourselves accountable to support a thriving planet and improved community wellbeing. We have set impactful goals and will not waiver from our commitments.”
Today, there are more than 3,000 companies B Corp certified; Beauty Kitchen, Beautycounter and Zue Botanicals are among the beauty brands with the verification.
“We are proud to welcome Arbonne to our growing community of Certified B Corporations who are redefining success in business to balance both profit and purpose,” said Andy Fyfe, Senior Manager, B Corp Growth & Activation.
“Arbonne’s move to certify as a B Corp signals a wider societal interest in the power of business to provide long term value for all stakeholders including workers, community and the environment.”
Arbonne has also teamed up with recycling firm Terracycle to launch ArbonneCycle, a programme which turns its hard-to-recycle packaging into reusable materials.
