British hairdresser Andrew Barton is joining day spa Urban Retreat at Harrods, where he will become Creative Director, leading the creative vision for the Urban Retreat hair salon.
The multi-award winning hairdresser recently decided to close his salon in London's Covent Garden. Coupled with his long-standing relationship with Reena Hammer, Brand Director at Urban Retreat, joining the Urban Retreat family seemed like a 'natural opportunity'.
"I'm thrilled to be joining the brilliant Urban Retreat team as Creative Director. As a fashion-led beauty brand the philosophy is simple: to give women beautiful hair that makes them feel and look their best. Front cover lustrous hair with vitality is my trademark, and working with the team to showcase that is an honour," commented Barton.
The partnership has been in talks for the past year, and Barton’s inaugural campaign of signature looks will launch to press in May, available for Urban Retreat clients to select in June.
Having a hugely respected talent like Andrew Barton join our already thriving salon business, we are now in a position to really push forward as a leader and innovator for both classic and avant garde collections led both by fashion trends as well as heritage. The opportunities are endless," said Reena Hammer, Brand Director for Urban Retreat.
Barton will take up his new residency in the salon six days a month, spending the rest of his time developing looks and trends, and providing the team with training and guidance.
