Zara and Jo Malone file defence against Estée Lauder Companies’ trademark legal action

British perfumer Jo Malone and fashion chain Zara UK have filed defences in response to Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) launching trademark legal action against Malone and the retailer. 

The defences, obtained by Cosmetics Business, have been filed with the UK High Court, a senior civil court in England and Wales, with ITX, the UK subsidiary of Zara owner Inditex, “denying infringing” the Jo Malone trademark.

Zara UK is being represented by the law firm Taylor Wessing.
