Actress Winona Ryder has been signed as the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty’s 2016 campaign.
The contract is a first for the 44-year-old, who has never fronted a beauty campaign before. However, no stranger to the limelight, Ryder is well-known for her starring roles in blockbuster films including Beetlejuice, Heathers and Edward Scissorhands.
The campaign image (pictured) will run across print and digital; it was shot by David Sims, with make-up by Diane Kendal. Meanwhile, a short film directed by Sims will launch in spring on marcjacobsbeauty.com.
Ryder’s make-up in the campaign is kept simple and elegant, with skin featuring light contouring and eyes sporting a striking feline flick. Products used for the image include Marc Jacobs Beauty’s Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, Fineline Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayons in Blacquer and (Big)Eyes!, and New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick in Strange Magic.
The first two products are due to launch as part of Marc Jacobs Beauty’s spring 2016 collection exclusively in Sephora stores, and select Marc Jacobs stores, as well as online.
