The company, which is in process of expanding its pharmaceutical plant at Huningue in Alsace, will double its natural cosmetics production capacity from 4 million to 8 million units a year at a cost of about €8.5m. Weleda France is also setting up a creche of 25 places for €1.5m because the majority of its 350-strong workforce are women. Sales overall last year rose 9.6% to €238.2m with French sales up 12% at €46m.
