Chemical group Wacker has announced the completion of its Shanghai Technical Centre. Located in the city’s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, the facility houses over ten labs for the Munich-based company’s silicone and polymer activities. Wacker says the €1m centre, which covers 3,400 metres squared, will boost its local R&D capabilities and ensure support for its Chinese customers.
According to Wacker, not only will the centre improve its testing, training and application development capacities, but a sales office and technical centre under one roof will enable the teams to collaborate more closely for optimum customer service.
As well as the C&T industry, the new facility will enable Wacker to better serve a range of industries including construction, coatings and adhesives.
