Prebiotic hair care start-up Straand has secured a US$2m pre-seed investment deal with Unilever Ventures to expand into new markets.
The Australian company will use the funding from Unilever’s growth capital arm to fuel its global expansion into the US, UK, Europe and China.
Straand was founded by entrepreneurs Meagan Pate, Sarah Hamilton, Jeremy Hunt, Tim Brown and Nick Morris in July 2022.
"The investment and strategic partnership with Unilever Ventures will assist us to take Straand to a global stage,” Pate told Cosmetics Business.
“We are excited to introduce the brand to new markets, retailers and consumers.
