Two people have been confirmed dead and multiple victims injured in a shooting at Knowlton Development Corporation (kdc/one).
The incident took place at the beauty, personal care and home care products manufacturer’s warehouse in New Albany, Ohio on 4 February.
Police responded to reports at approximately 10.30pm local time of an active shooter at the New Albany International Business Park location, about 15 miles from central Columbus.
Authorities reported that one person died inside the building.
On 6 February, they confirmed that another individual – one of five hospitalised after the shooting – had succumbed to their injuries.
Following the execution of a search warrant at a home in Columbus, the New Albany Police Department apprehended suspect Bruce Reginald Foster III.
Foster III is an employee at kcd/one and had been at work for “some time” before carrying out a “targeted attack”, said New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones.
Speaking prior to confirmation of the second death, Jones added: “Our hearts are heavy for the family who lost a loved one, and we are praying for those injured.”
Police have not released the dead victims’ identities and the conditions of the four remaining hospitalised individuals remain unknown at this time.
The shooting follows the announcement earlier this week that kdc/one is acquiring the European and Middle Eastern operations of beauty brand incubator Maesa.
The Longueuil, Québec headquartered company employs more than 15,000 people across 24 facilities globally.
