Dave Loretta will continue to work with the Jessica Alba-founded beauty and lifestyle company until it finds a suitable replacement

The Honest Company’s CFO Dave Loretta is retiring this year.

The ‘clean’ beauty and lifestyle company’s search for a replacement has begun and is being supported by a leading executive search firm.

Loretta, who has held the title for two years, will stay with the business during its search for a new CFO.

The Honest Company was founded in 2012 by actress Jessica Alba, offering cleanly formulated and sustainably designed personal care products.

The range spans nappies and baby wipes, as well as beauty, wellness and household care.

“I am proud that in my time… I was able to advance the strength of the business model as well as the finance organisation,” said Loretta.

“I leave knowing that The Honest Company is well positioned for continued success, and I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition.”

Loretta joined the business in 2023 and is cited as helping it deliver “increased revenue, significant expansion in gross margin, and positive operating profitability in Q4 2023,” read a statement from The Honest Company.

The company added that this “continued quarterly” throughout its most recent Q3 2024 results versus the comparable periods in the prior year.

“Dave joined us at a pivotal time in our transformation initiative, with the goal of restructuring our financial model and establishing a framework for long term financial stability,” said Carla Vernón, CEO of The Honest Company.

“We are deeply grateful for the mark he has left on both our financial strategy and our organisation as a whole.”

Last year, Alba stepped down from her role as Chief Creative Officer of The Honest Company, but remains a member of the board of directors.
