A recent study has found which products Brits are more likely to buy online and in-store.
According to results from online marketplace onbuy.com, which surveyed nearly 1,500 shoppers, it found 80% of customers are more likely to purchase beauty tools online than in-store.
It came third following sex toys (92%) as the number one product customers would prefer to buy online and tech accessories such as headphones and phone chargers (81%).
Meanwhile, beauty products also came in the top three items customers would avoid shopping on the internet.
More than 80% of shoppers said they would feel more comfortable purchasing make-up products from a physical shop while 73% agreed they would only buy perfume in-store.
Bras topped the list of products to purchase in-store, while jewellery, electronics and medicine were among the other items shoppers would rather buy in a bricks-and-mortar environment.
The threatening rise of online
Data from Eurostat has shown that 82% of Brits are shopping online every month, which has put the high street in significant decline.
Debenhams, Boots and John Lewis are among the retailers which have been forced to close high street stores, meanwhile, direct selling company Avon has axed more than 10% of its workforce and exited the Australian market.
However, these statistics show there is still a place for beauty in physical stores, despite the rising competition of online.
