Shiseido has collaborated with Sega to create Project Beauty, a make-over game for Nintendo DS. Project Beauty uses a scanning device that feeds a digital image of the user’s face into the console.
The software sorts the faces into one of four groups - cool, active, cute or feminine - before showing two images of the face, one without make-up and the other featuring a suggested make-over. Project Beauty teaches users basic make-up skills, such as how to apply foundation and allows them to select shades of foundation, blusher, mascara, lipstick and other cosmetics.
“The same user can have a variety of make-up tips for different occasions such as business, dating or formal gatherings,” Sega spokeswoman Rei Sugiyama explained.
The software will be available on the Japanese market for ¥6,090 ($55) from 27 November.
