Shiseido enters Argentinian market
First Japanese beauty brand to be retailed in the country
The Japanese cosmetics group Shiseido has started sales of its cosmetics products in Argentina, marking the first time a Japanese cosmetics brand has been launched in the country. Marketing will be done through the Greta Group based in Buenos Aires and the focus will be on the company's prestige skincare and makeup lines.
Meanwhile, the company has said that it remained unaffected by the slowdown in economic growth in China, a phenomenon commented on by a number of economists in recent weeks. Shiseido said there had been no sign of a slowdown in sales since the start of 2012. Yoshinori Nishimura, finance director, said that the company expected to see sales there topping the 100 billion yen mark (€930m) compared with 89 billion yen in the previous fiscal year.
