Senior Supply Chain Manager - Manchester - £60-65,000 DOE

We are looking for a forward-thinking Senior Manger with a passion for driving growth within an innovative, fast-paced business

We are seeking a supply chain professional with significant experience in managing, planning and logistics in previous high growth consumer goods businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a supply chain team in the overall delivery of the function for the business ensuring the team are empowered to meet key delivery targets and personal objectives on time and within budget.
  • Develop strategies, policies and procedures to not only enhance customer satisfaction but continually deliver improvements i.e. reducing costs, improving efficiencies/SLA’s etc.
  • Provide strategic direction and vision to the team in order to support the overarching business goals.
  • Ensure cross functional working happens and overall business culture is supported personally and encouraging team to deliver best practice around this.
  • Responsibility for ensuring health and safety compliance across the team.
  • Ensure regular reviewing and reporting of progress, resolving issues and challenges is a timely, calm manner.
  • Experience setting up 3rd party contracts with logistics suppliers.
  • Acting as key contact point with external logistics partners globally
  • Work as a key stakeholder across the organisation, leading by example working closely with our finance, commercial, customer service and product development teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple interfaces across both internal and external organisations – suppliers and customers.
  • Leads with a customer focused approach at all times.
  • Working with the distribution manager to select carriers and negotiating contracts and rates, ensuring the best possible service and rates.
  • Work with the Logistics manager to: Evaluate vendor operations (e.g. freight forwarders) according to quality standards, Discover the most cost-effective shipping modes and schedules, Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects (e.g. warehouse-slotting, route planning).
  • Follow up with department heads to ensure proper execution of business strategy on operations.
  • Request reports from company departments for review on a regular basis.
  • Compile information from various sources to formulate a current picture of the company and the market.
  • Interpret data to generate company and market strategies for implementation.
  • Create a monthly presentation for the Board of Directors meeting
  • Working with our software (MIS software, Carrier management software) to become an expert in our systems.

The Candidate

  • Proven track record of successfully managing a supply chain team ideally within a consumer goods, based business with both DTC and retail partners.
  • Strong background in international supply chain management.
  • Proven track record of cost savings and business improvements but not at the cost of quality.

  • The ideal candidate must be competent, confidence and collaborative.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience of implementing and managing ERP systems.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, constantly seeking new opportunities and strategies to support ****’s growth plans.
  • Strong management skills to support and develop direct reports.
  • Someone excited about growth that has skills that would be suited more towards a start-up environment in terms of approach and thought process.
