The mercury is starting to drop as winter 2013/14 gets into its stride; however, the fragrance industry is already looking ahead to autumn/winter 2014/15. Fragrance supplier Seven Scent Ltd, launched by brand owner PZ Cussons as a stand alone business in 2010, has revealed its early insight into what trends to expect this time next year.
Seven based its fragrance forecast on research in the worlds of fine fragrance, fashion and design, gleaning inspiration from sources as diverse as London Fashion Week and home décor expos. It predicts that there will be four standout scent trends, the first being a dark and dramatic interpretation of rose. According to the company, rose has been a staple note for three seasons now, but 2014/15 will witness a richer, spicier, more velvety version, coupled with intense notes of saffron.
