RPC Formatec has provided its injection moulding expertise to manufacture the casing of biozoom, a diagnostic solution devised by Opsolution Spectroscopic Systems GmbH that utilises the technology of Carl Zeiss.


RPC Formatec has provided its injection moulding expertise to manufacture the casing of biozoom, a diagnostic solution devised by Opsolution Spectroscopic Systems GmbH that utilises the technology of Carl Zeiss.

Biozoom is a new user-friendly method of measuring the body's key biometric parameters by scanning the surface of the skin. Results are sent via Bluetooth to the user's mobile phone within seconds.

RPC Formatec was asked to manufacture the complex plastic casing after being recommended to Opsolution Spectroscopic Systems GmbH for the reliability and precision of its tooling. Comprising eight ABS parts, the shell houses all of the optical and electronic components required. The ergonomic, hand-held design is similar to a PC mouse and enables the user to easily pass the scanner over the upper arm to take measurements of cytochrome and water, or on other parts of the body where fat measurements are needed.
