Reckitt Benckiser bid

Reckitt Benckiser is said to be preparing a bid of up to £6m for Pfizer’s OTC medicines arm. The company expects to raise the funds from shareholders, which will see brands such as Sudafed and Listerine join the portfolio.

Should the bid be accepted, the deal would mark Benckiser’s second acquisition in this sector in the course of a year - the company successfully bid for Boots’ healthcare arm, BHI, at the close of last year.
