In April, US fashion designer Ralph Lauren is launching women’s fragrance Midnight Romance, a ‘follow-up’ to Romance (1997) that the firm stresses is not a flanker.
A floriental, created by Honorine Blanc and Alberto Morillas of Firmenich, it has head notes of raspberry, Italian bergamot and lychee, heart notes of peony, jasmine sambac and freesia and base notes of black vanilla, iris absolute and ambrox. The ingredients are meant to represent the tension between masculine and feminine.
The fragrance will be available in four sizes of edt: a 10ml rollerball for US$23, 30ml spray for $52, 50ml spray for $74 and 100ml spray for $94. There will also be a 200ml bath and shower gel for $41 and a 200ml moisturiser for the same price.
The bottle is the same glass rectangular shape as Romance, but with a pink juice and a black and silver cap.
