Quest acquistion boosts Givaudan sales

Geneva-based producer of aromas and fragrances, Givaudan, has reported strong growth following its acquisition of Quest International. Sales in the first nine months of 2007 rose 41.1% to SFr3.1bn. Growth in the aromas sector was 55.7% and that in the fragrances business was 30.7%.

Geneva-based producer of aromas and fragrances, Givaudan, has reported strong growth following its acquisition of Quest International. Sales in the first nine months of 2007 rose 41.1% to SFr3.1bn. Growth in the aromas sector was 55.7% and that in the fragrances business was 30.7%.

Givaudan acquired Quest at the end of last year for SFr2.8bn and it was fully absorbed into the Swiss group by March this year. The takeover has had an effect on half-year 2007 profits and the company has declined to publish nine-month figures.
