Swine flu has proved lucrative for PZ Cussons, which has reported a 16% rise in annual profits thanks to the pandemic boosting demand for its Carex anti-bacterial hand washes.

Pre-tax profits reached £88.8m, beating analyst forecasts of between £84m and £88m.
