Coty also scooped three awards in a night which was attended by the glitterati of the fragrance industry and which saw Jean-Paul Guerlain himself honoured by The Fragrance Foundation for his “Creativity and Services to the Fragrance Industry”.

In his opening address, The Fragrance Foundation’s chairman, Peter Norman, referenced the economic climate in the UK saying that “fragrance sales have stood up well but it has been at a heady cost” but adding that the industry has shown “innovation, success and courage” in the face of adversity and cost cutting.
