Prestige hair sales have soared this year thanks to the ‘skinification’ of hair care trend and consumers opting for quick-fix products. 

Sales of British prestige hair products increased 67% from January to the end of September 2022, according to data from The NPD Group, in comparison to pre-pandemic levels. 

The popularity of the ‘skinification’ of hair trend – where brands are launching products inspired by skin care – is said to be behind the growth.

Skin care routines have been standard in beauty for years,” Emma Fishwick, Account Manager at NPD UK Beauty, told Cosmetics Business.
