Pigments gain Ecocert approval

Merck KGaA says three of its cosmetic and functional fillers have been approved


Merck KGaA has announced that three of its cosmetic fillers and functional fillers have been granted Ecocert certification.

The Biron, Colorona and Timiron brands reached compliance with the standard, which evaluated the products’ environmental protection throughout the entire production process.

The certification will allow Merck to target cosmetic manufacturers of ecologically and biologically sound products as well as giving manufacturers broader opportunities to market cosmetics and toiletries in this area.

Four inorganic pigments from Sun Chemical's SunPURO range have also been certified by Ecocert as suitable for use in natural and organic formulations.
