The New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Suppliers’ Day 2015 in New Jersey was preceded by the organisation's Discover India symposium on May 11, entitled “India: Tapping the Emerging Personal Care Market”. In previous years the regional market focus was on China and Brazil. India was chosen due to its status as “the 10th largest economy in the world, at $1.875 trillion” according to the organisers. Participants from all areas of the industry presented their perspectives at the symposium, and a few common themes emerged:
