PCHi 2013 enjoys record visitor numbers
Guangzhou show featured several new additions
PCHi, which began on 13 March at Guangzhou Poly World Trade Center in China, has announced a record number of first day delegates, welcoming a total of 4,790 personal care trade professionals. Exhibitor numbers, meanwhile, totalled 353. The delegate figures represent a 42% increase over first day visitor numbers in 2012, said organiser Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions (RSE).
Lynn Xu, PCHi's Project Manager, commented: “Since 2008, PCHi has provided a conducive platform that continually and effectively meets the industry’s needs."
Standout trends at the ongoing event include mild and free-from functional ingredients, ideal for the booming Chinese children and baby care market; anti-ageing and moisturising actives, especially those tailored to sensitive skins (a growing problem in more polluted urban environments); and natural and TCM inspired ingredients, which cater to the region's evolving naturals market.
New for 2013's edition was NEXUS, a networking session for personal care industry professionals, at which it was announced that a PCHi Chemist & Formulator Club, set up for industry professionals directly involved in creation of personal care products, who have attended PCHi for at least three consecutive years, would be set up from 2014. Members' benefits include special rates for the PCHi conference, invitations to exclusive networking events and fast-track onsite registration.
Xu added: “PCHi 2014 is still in the early stages of planning at the moment, but we definitely plan to inject other new elements into PCHi 2014.”
The seventh PCHi will be held from 19-21 February 2014, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
