P&G acquires Ambi Pur
Following the purchase of Sara Lee's deodorant business last week, Procter & Gamble has announced it has signed a binding offer with the manufacturer to acquire the home fragrance brand Ambi Pur for €320m.
Following the purchase of Sara Lee's deodorant business last week, Procter & Gamble has announced it has signed a binding offer with the manufacturer to acquire the home fragrance brand Ambi Pur for €320m.
Under the terms of the agreement P&G will acquire the air care brand, along with several toilet care products.
“The acquisition of Ambi Pur strengthens P&G’s global leadership in home care and specifically air care by extending our reach to serve more consumers in more parts of the world more completely,” said David Taylor, P&G group president, global home care. “This acquisition brings the strong Ambi Pur brand equity and complementary geographical presence, particularly in Europe and Asia.”
The sale is expected to be completed at the close of the current fiscal year, ending 30 June, 2010.
