With trade shows on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the cosmetics industry event has launched a new site to connect professionals

With the majority of cosmetics industry trade shows on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, in-cosmetics has launched an online resource to help keep the industry connected.

Dubbed Connect, the site is centred around new ingredients and formulations, and features webinars, articles and videos from industry professionals for scientists to keep up to date on developments.

Connect will include a video series called ‘ingredients in action’ led by the Director of the Institute of Personal Care Science Belinda Carli, as well as contributions from BASF, Mibelle, Givaudan and Sensient.

“The strength of in-cosmetics resides in the fact that we are connecting suppliers, personal care creators and experts whether online or, when the time comes, face to face,” said Cathy Laporte, Portfolio Director at Reed Exhibitions, in-cosmetics’ trade show organiser.

“in-cosmetics Connect will give the industry what it needs not just right now, but also in the future.”

She continued: “We’re excited to announce Connect and will ensure it evolves over time to keep pace with the industry’s recovery and future requirements.

“We are already planning to add new features that will enhance the user experience. For example, in the near future, we will unveil new networking opportunities to keep the industry connected and facilitate the growth of key business relationships.”

in-cosmetics Connect will also launch its own podcast hosted by Simon Pitman, exploring the future of the industry with guests from across the personal care and cosmetics sector.

Pitman will also review the latest ingredient developments and deliver a fortnightly global industry news report.

The announcement follows a flurry of postponed trade shows across industry.
