The new scent is described as a ‘wild celebration’ of the peak of the 1920s

Vilhelm Parfumerie, the luxury fragrance brand, has announced the launch of its latest scent Chicago High.

The fragrance (€210 for 100ml) is inpisred by the ‘wild celebrations’ of Jay Gatsby during the peak of the 1920s.

Structured in the style of a classic early 20th century perfume, the scent is said to serve as a time machine, transporting the wearer back to the roaring twenties.

Jan Ahlgren, Vilhelm Parfumerie’s creator, said: “I wanted to express that effervescent feeling of a time period that was drawing to a close, but also the idea that there were hidden depths to all that glamour, a rhyme and reason for such luxurious pursuits, not just a decadence of society.”

Top notes feature champagne, pineapple and bergamot, which are supported by a heart of honey and tobacco, and a base of leather, patchouli and amber.

Chicago High debuts in September.
