Jojoba oil is widely used by R&D professionals in a wide range of personal care formulations, from baby care to anti-aging applications.
Due to its unique properties, formulators chose to add Jojoba oil to their formulations in order to obtain a light feeling, natural Omega 9 and Vitamin E enjoying from clean beauty cosmetics.
In late research, it was found that Jojoba oil is not only beneficial in an aesthetic sense, however, due to its unique chemical structure, which is similar to 25% of the human sebum, Jojoba oil is safe to use on all skin types.
It could also be safely applied even on injured skin, assisting the skin in its rejuvenating process.
In a study published by E. Ranzato in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, it was found that Jojoba oil accelerates wound healing by stimulating collagen synthesis in vivo tissues.
As shown in the image below, the addition of just 1% Jojoba oil accelerated the wound healing in comparison to the control solution.
“The skin-repairing properties innately found in Jojoba oil opens up a world of possibilities for its applications,” says Anna Aharoni, R&D Manager at Jojoba Desert (A.C.S.) Ltd.
"Not only is Jojoba oil beneficial in traditional cosmetic and skin care formulations, but it can help skin heal more quickly and effectively from wounds, invasive procedures, intense medispa treatments and more.”
