Primark has gained cruelty-free certification for its entire own-brand PS… cosmetics range.

The retailer worked with Cruelty Free International to “rigourously audit” the beauty line over the last year, which includes make-up, hair and skin care products.

From this month onwards products within the range will start to feature the Leaping Bunny logo.

Michelle Thew, CEO of Cruelty Free International, said: “We are delighted to award the Leaping Bunny certification to the PS… cosmetic range.

“We want to congratulate Primark for demonstrating it’s possible to bring high quality cosmetic products to the high street without inflicting suffering on animals.

“The Leaping Bunny makes it easy for customers to make an informed and ethical decision about their shopping.”

The certification makes cruelty free beauty more widely available on the high street via Primark’s expanding network of UK stores.

Globally Primark operates more than 345 stores across 11 countries.

Over 1,000 companies have the Leaping Bunny certification.
