Pola Orbis acquires H2O Plus

Japanese cosmetic company strengthens skin care portfolio


Japanese cosmetics company Pola Orbis Holdings has announced it has reached an agreement to acquire the privately held manufacturer and marketer of prestige marine-based skin care products, H2O Plus.

H2O Plus which is headquartered in Chicago, US, is majority owned by the investment companies Cordova, Smart & Williams, LLC and New MainStream Capital, as well as members of the company’s senior management. It has more than 2,000 points of distribution in 22 countries covering North America, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Pola Orbis plans to accelerate growth in these global markets and achieve consolidated sales of $3bn by 2020.

“H2O Plus has a sharp brand identity and adds a distinct uniqueness to the Pola Orbis portfolio of seven brands,” commented Satoshi Suzuki, president and ceo, Pola Orbis. “Pola Orbis targets to increase its presence in global markets in the mid-term management plan and we believe a partnership with H2O Plus will be mutually beneficial.”
