French skin care brand Dr Pierre Ricaud is launching a day and night cream for women over 30, called Optimalia Jour and Optimalia Nuit, with a focus on texture rather than anti-ageing.
The creams both have a mousse texture due to a gellifying ingredient that the firm said behaves like micro-sponges that foam and gives the product “an irresistible aspect of whipped cream”. The products are also fragranced with fresh fig and vanilla.
The day cream (€39) is based on Centella asiatica to reactivate the cellular mechanism, provitamin B5 to protect the skin barrier and proprietary molecule Glycalox to prevent the skin fibres becoming rigid and fight the first signs of ageing. The night cream (also €39) is based on extract of the brown algae Alaria to stimulate cellular regeneration, macadamia nut oil to nourish and soften the skin and Glycalox to fight glycation.
“For those in their 30s, beauty is a positive state of mind,” said the firm. “For your skin, it is the golden age – the ideal skin is luminous and perfect.”
