Speciality ingredients company Natural Sourcing has grown its line of personal care ingredients with grapefruit seed extract. It has a range of cosmeceutical uses including in moisturisers, serums, balms, liquid soaps and hair care products.
Used as a powerful broad spectrum citrus based anti-microbial, the extract is believed to help extend product shelf life and protect skincare formulations against bacteria and fungus. It also has strong antiseptic, germicidal, antibacterial, fungicidal and anti-viral properties, according to Natural Sourcing, whose extract is made of 60 per cent grapefruit seed extract and 40 per cent USP vegetable glycerin.
