L\'Oreal completes acquisition of Decleor and Carita

The ownership of the two brands has been transferred from Shiseido to L\'Oréal

L'Oréal announced this week that it has finalised its acquisition of Decléor and Carita from Shiseido and has completed the transfer of ownership. The acquisition is line with information it released about the transaction in February 2014 and October 2013.

The French group acquired the two brands for a total amount of €230m. Shiseido said it will record an extraordinary gain of approximately ¥22.501bn (calculated at an exchange rate of ¥68 to the euro) during the fiscal year ending 31 March 2015 as a result of the sale. The company included the anticipated gain from this sale in its forecast for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2015. The sale of the two brands is part of Shiseido's plan to direct its focus on its business in Asia.
