The agreement with G-III Apparel Group will see the New York-based company launch new fragrances in 2023

The global licensing deal between Inter Parfums and G-III Apparel Group for its Donna Karan and DKNY fragrance brands has come into effect.

First announced in October 2021, the agreement saw the New York, US-based fragrance company take the reins from 1 July this year.

Inter Parfums said it has already begun developing product lines, with new fragrance launches under the Donna Karan and DKNY brands slated for 2023.

Commenting on the licence win, Jean Madar, Chairman and CEO of Inter Parfums, said: “We are excited to complete this transaction with these established and valuable fragrance brands, Donna Karan and DKNY.

“As a part of the signed licenced agreement previously announced in October 2021, we have already initiated developing strategic advancements and product lines, with an expectation to launch new fragrances under these brands in 2023.”

Madar held up Donna Karan Cashmere Mist as having a strong brand heritage in the US and Canada, as well as DKNY Be Delicious, which “has established itself as a global blockbuster since its launch in 2004”.

“We are proud of our brands’ best-in-class fragrances that have extended their reach beyond fashion by connecting to a broader range of consumers globally,” added the Chairman and CEO of G-III Apparel Group, Morris Goldfarb.

“Inter Parfums’ exceptional capability to develop fragrances and enhance portfolios with their significant worldwide distribution will work hand-in-hand with us to position Donna Karan and DKNY for further global expansion.

“We’re looking forward to our partnership with Inter Parfums to grow these businesses together.”

Donna Karan and DKNY join Inter Parfums roster of licenced fragrance brands alongside the recently signed Ungaro and names including Abercrombie & Fitch, Anna Sui, Boucheron, Coach, Ferragamo, Guess, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Spade, MCM, Montblanc, Oscar de la Renta and Van Cleef & Arpels.

The company also owns the Lanvin and Rochas fragrance brands.

In April, Inter Parfums announced it would stop making fragrances for menswear label Dunhill once its contract expires at the end of September 2023.

It took over the Dunhill fragrance contract in 2013.
